Why choose the ST-9820?

Eyelet buttonholes are what you see on a good pair of jeans or a tailored jacket. The rounded end gives the button shank room to sit, so the garment closes flat and the buttonhole doesn't pull out of shape over time. The ST-9820 produces them quickly, consistently and to the same standard on the last garment of the day as on the first.

● A design you can trust. Because it follows the RH-9820 layout, parts and technical knowledge are easy to come by, and our engineers know these machines well.

● Sewing and cutting in one go. No separate cutting step. Set the knife to cut before or after sewing, depending on the finish you want.

● Change styles in seconds. Length, width, stitch density and bartack are all set on the control panel, with no cams to swap.

● Built for volume. At up to 2,500 stitches per minute, it keeps pace with a busy production line.

● Checked before it leaves us. Every machine is tested by our engineers before dispatch.

● Support when you need it. Talk to us before you buy, and rely on our London workshop for repairs and servicing afterwards.

Who is it for?

The ST-9820 earns its place anywhere buttonholes are sewn in volume on medium to heavy garments:

● Denim and jeanswear makers sewing waistband and fly buttonholes

● Trouser, tailoring and workwear manufacturers

● Jacket, coat and outerwear producers

● CMT units offering buttonholing as a service to other brands

● Bespoke workrooms that have outgrown doing buttonholes by hand

● Colleges and universities running industrial garment production courses

Making shirts or blouses? These normally need straight lockstitch buttonholes, which call for a different type of machine. We are happy to point you to the right one. Browse our industrial machines or give us a ring.

Information

If you make jeans, trousers, jackets or coats, buttonholes are often the slowest and most fiddly part of the job. The Suote ST-9820 takes that work off your hands. Load the garment, press the pedal and it sews and cuts a neat, hard-wearing keyhole buttonhole in one automatic cycle.

The ST-9820 is built to the well-known Brother RH-9820 design, a layout that has been a fixture in garment factories for years. You get the same proven mechanics: a 550W servo motor, stepping-motor feed for accurate stitch placement and a top speed of 2,500 stitches per minute.

It is a serious production machine, so it does need a compressed air supply and enough room for a head weighing around 120 kg. Give us a call before you order and we will make sure it suits your workroom

Looking after your machine
  • A little daily care keeps the ST-9820 running smoothly. Check the oil before you start each day, drain any water from the air filter, and clear away thread ends and fabric chips from around the knife. Change the needle as soon as you notice skipped stitches, and keep the knife sharp for crisp, clean buttonholes.
  • In regular production, we recommend a full service at least once a year. Our engineers repair and service industrial buttonhole machines at our London workshop. Find out more about repairs and servicing.

Delivery, Installation & Returns

What is an eyelet buttonhole?

It is a buttonhole with a rounded, keyhole-shaped end. That round end gives the button shank room to sit, so the garment fastens flat and the buttonhole holds its shape. You will find them on most jeans, trousers, jackets and coats.

Is this a Brother machine?

No. The ST-9820 is made by Suote and built to the Brother RH-9820 design. It is sold and supported by Talash Sewing Centre.

Can I use it for shirt buttonholes?

It is designed for eyelet buttonholes on medium to heavy garments. Shirts usually need a straight lockstitch buttonhole machine instead. Give us a call and we will help you find the

Yes. The knife cuts each buttonhole automatically, and you can choose whether it cuts before or after sewing.

Will it run from a normal UK socket?

UK Plug.

DO×558 needles in sizes Nm 80–120. Using the wrong needle system can lead to skipped stitches and damage, so it is worth keeping the correct ones in stock.

Will it arrive ready to use?

Every machine is tested before it leaves us. You will need a compressed air supply and the right power supply in place. Ask us about installation when you order.

Can I see it before I buy?
